Here are some pics of the installation of a Rockford Fosgate 800a2 amplifier and 12" Kenwood Excelon dB+ subwoofers. I took the easy way out by keeping the stock head unit and stock interior speakers, because I was looking for a little more bass, which I believe the stock system lacks.

I tapped into the wires for the rear speakers and used them for the high level inputs to the amplifier. That is one reason that I disassembled most of the rear of the interior of the car: to get to the speaker wires for the rear speakers. I also did it to run the power wires to the amplifier. I used 2 parallel 10 gauge wires for the power supply.

I have 4 of the 12" Kenwood Excelon dB+ subwoofers, but the rear seat has to be folded down in order to accomodate all of them. I can fit two of them behind the rear seat in the hatch area.
