Intake Pressure Tester
In order to check for leaks in the intake piping, I created a pressure tester that goes in place of the MAS. The idea was taken from Stealth 316 Intake Presure Tester, however I decided to choose for the cheapest method of making an intake pressure tester, so I used a 3 1/2" PVC cap and drilled a hole in it that was just large enough to accomodate a valve stem. The 3 1/2" cap is slightly too small, so I used a small piece of weatherstripping and covered it with duct tape so that it fit tightly. When doing an intake pressure test, I capped off the valve cover vents (both of them), and then used an air chuck to pressurize the system through the valve stem.
One other option for looking for leaks specifically in vacuum hoses is to take a regulated supply from an air compressor, and use a blowgun with a hose barb adapter (readily available at any hardware store). Disconnect the hose from the engine side, and the hose (to gauges, fuel pressure regulator, wastegates, etc) can be individually checked for leaks this way. The wastegates can also be checked to ensure that they open appropriately.
By doing this, I found several small leaks, mostly at threaded fittings. One other major leak that I found was at the intake plenum spacer. I opted to remove the intake plenum spacer, and purchase one new intake plenum gasket (as opposed to buying two new gasktes), and the seal is now much better.
