Cigarette Lighter Socket Replacement
Here is a quick description of how to replace the cigarette socket lighter in the center console. The first step is to remove the passenger side carpet panel of the center console. There is one screw with a cover in the center of the panel, one clip that pulls out near the front side of the panel, and one push clip that connects to the rear of the panel.

Next, remove the power wire, ground wire, and light. The power wire and ground wires have a push clip to release them, and I had to wiggle it considerably to get it to come loose. The light is removed by turning it a quarter turn and pulling down gently.

Then, unscrew the ring located on the bottom of the lighter. After that, the assembly should be loose, and the socket and light ring can be removed from the top. The other pieces are removed from the bottom.

I got a replacement socket from AutoZone for $3. It is made by Victor with part number V5410. The size of the nut for the housing was not the same on this piece as the stock one, so I was not able to mount the light into the replacement socket. The light ring did fit onto the new piece, so it still has the same look during the day, but doesn't light up at night.
