Antenna Mast Replacement

I had always noticed that my antenna mast (pole) was shorter than other 3/S cars, however I had never had any issues with it operating correctly and the radio reception had always been fine. However, recently the antenna stopped extending and retracting correctly. The motor would make noise, but the antenna would not move. So, I did some research and found that the most likely culprit was a broken cable on the antenna mast. To check this, I disassembled the motor according to the instructions at Stealth316 Antenna Pole Replacement. Upon disassembly, I found that the cable was broken. So I ordered a replacement antenna mast/cable (it is a one piece assembly) from Rockville Mitsubishi. The installation was straightforward by following the directions above. The antenna now works again, and it is full length.
