Test & Tune at IRP 6/6/06

Here are the timeslips from my trip to Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP) on test & tune night for the 1/4 mile drag race. This was my first ever time running at a drag strip. I was using pump gas + methanol injection (50% windshield washer fluid and 50% pure methanol) running 14.5 psig of boost. I had been running ~ 16 psig of boost on the street, but the car didn't run as well at the track (I was getting some knock and the boost was slightly lower). I'm not exactly sure why I was getting knock, but I tried to change the settings on my S-AFC, however that did not help. I have some other ideas (high intake temp, possible boost leak), and I am planning to recheck for boost leaks, and change the methanol concentration to try to lower the air temperature in the plenum. I normally launched at about 5,500 rpms with a quick slip of the clutch. For the 12.71 I launched closer to 6,000 rpms, and for the 13.8 I launched at about 3,000 rpms (I have no idea why I didn't rev it higher before launching). For all of the runs, I was lifting to shift and using the clutch. I'm sure that I could drop the times by speedshifting, but I don't plan to do that.
